Hello! My name is Lisa Schroeder. My road trip of teaching began 28 years ago at Crestwood. I received my BA in Education/Language Arts from Grand Valley. I have 30 additionally hours in a variety of topics for my Master's equivalency. I came as the "newbee," the new kindergarten teacher, as Crestwood had only had one kindergarten teacher up until that time. My journey has taken me from first grade to second to third back to second and I begin the adventure of my 2nd year as a 4th grade teacher.
My adventures away from school involve my family. We ARE a road trip family, enjoying time on the road to locations in Michigan as well as away. This summer we participated in a 9 day mission trip to Bear Lake towing our pop-up camper. While my husband Rob was working on a church, Jacob who turned 10 this month, Jana, who is almost 9 and Joshua, 7, and I had time to do some crafting, cooking for the team, and having fun with the other kids that were on the trip. I was the entertainment director for our group and I spent 10 hours tie dying! I also tried my hand at solar cooking like they do in Africa, using a tire! Six hours later, I had a chocolate cake! All three of the J's, as my kids are referred to, attend Crestwood as 4th and second graders. I can't wait to travel the 4th grade road with you this year! |
